Gabriel Phipps is a Boston-born artist, curator and art educator. He received his BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art in 1997 and his MFA in painting from Boston University in 2000. For the past eight years he was represented by the Howard Scott Gallery, in New York City. He has recently shown at the John Davis Gallery, the Painting Center and looks forward to exhibiting in Western Massachusetts at Readywipe Gallery and the Williston Northampton School. Among his honors is a Josef and Anni Albers Foundation residency. His paintings have been profiled in New American Paintings, Art in America and Painters’ Table. He has twelve years of college level teaching experience, having taught across disciplines at Massachusetts College of Art, SUNY New Paltz and most recently Indiana University Bloomington, where for three years he was Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting.
