Gabriel Phipps is a Boston-born artist, curator and art educator. He received his BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art in 1997 and his MFA in painting from Boston University in 2000. He has shown recently at the Howard Scott Gallery, in New York City, the John Davis Gallery, Readywipe Gallery and looks forward to a 2019 one-person exhibit at the Grubbs Gallery in Western Massachusetts. Among his honors is a Josef and Anni Albers Foundation residency. His paintings have been profiled in New American Paintings, Art in America and Painters’ Table. He has twelve years of college level teaching experience, having taught across disciplines at Massachusetts College of Art, SUNY New Paltz and most recently Indiana University Bloomington, where he was Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting.
